PATTERN OF COMMON SKIN DISEASES OF PATIENTS IN 10 PROVINCE IN THE EPIDEMIOLOGIC INVESTIGATION (2022) OF NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF DERMATOLOGY AND VENEREOLOGY

Background: Skin diseases have a high incidence and seriously affect quality of life. To have an overview of common skin disease patterns in the community, we conducted this study with the aim of surveying the characteristics of common skin disease patterns in 10 provinces in the Northern and Southern regions.
Materials and methods: Descriptive study. All patients diagnosed with skin diseases (4354 patients) during the epidemiologic investigation were classified and grouped.
Results: Atopic-allergic skin diseases had the highest rate with 34.1%, followed by prurigo with 21.1%. Infectious skin diseases accounted for 31.1%, of which skin fungus contributed 13.5%. In particular, 8 patients were first diagnosed with leprosy.
Conclusion: According to the results of our epidemiological investigation, atopic – allergic skin diseases accounted for the highest proportion in the pattern of common skin diseases in the community. However, the group of infectious skin diseases, especially skin fungus and scabies, still accounts for a high proportion, especially in the Northern mountainous areas and the Central Highlands.
