Abstract

Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics and related factors of skin aging patients.

Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 150 skin aging patients at the National Hospital of Dermatology from July 2021 to October 2022. The collected informations included: gender, age, skin type according to Fitzpatrick classification, degree of skin aging according to Glogau classification, clinical features of skin aging according to SAS (Skin aging score) and dermoscopic features according to the DPAS (Dermoscopic photoaging scale).

Result: The signs of aging began to appear from the age of 22. The two main groups of lesions of skin aging were wrinkles and pigmentation changes, seen in 90% and 87,3% of patients, respectively. The signs of aging were seen mainly on the cheeks (100%), forehead (97,3%), around the eyes (90%), less commonly around the mouth (26%). Women showed significantly higher wrinkles and sagging skin than men, the difference was statistically significant (p = 0.000). There was no difference in the signs of pigmentation disorder, comedon-milia, vasodilatation between the sexes.

Conclusion: Skin aging appears very early, the most common manifestations are wrinkles and pigmentation changes with diverse lesions on each area of ​​the face. It is necessary to prevent and treat early to slow down the skin aging process.
